This is a caveson made by Professional Choice and Sheetz Brothers, two of the companies that I truly believe in. They make the best leather goods in America today. A caveson is something you put on a horse, and then you put the bridle on over it. It hampers the horse from opening their mouth, teaching them to keep the mouth closed and flex at the poll. When we first start training a horse, the goal is to pull on them, encouraging the jaw to open so that the poll stays soft. But eventually, you want to teach the horse to keep the mouth closed, the poll to give, and for the horse to be what we call the ‘perfect bridle’.
